PR Award jury member Hanna Brogren on curiosity, leadership, and courage

It’s time to reveal another jury member in this year’s Nordic PR Awards. This time we proudly announce Hanna Brogren! Apart from having an outstanding career within communications with titles like CCO and CEO, Hanna was also one of the experts participating in Mynewsdesk report State of Nordic PR & Communication 2022.

Today, she is the Director of Communications for the Region of Stockholm, meaning that she is in charge of the strategic communication, and regional development for the 2,3 million people living in the region.

Previously in her 25-year long career within the industry, there are several three word-titles on her resume, one of them being the CEO of the Swedish Communication Association. “I have always been curious about digital communication and started my first web project in 1996”, Hanna says.

Hanna was also one of the participants in the PR industry report, State of Nordic PR & Communication, released by Mynewsdesk in January 2022. She provided valuable insights and analysis of trends, challenges, and opportunities within PR & communication going forward.

To get to know Hanna better, we asked her a few quick questions.

Why did you decide to work with PR and communication?

I am truly fascinated by what people can accomplish together with a common goal and communication.

What do you consider to be PR and communication professionals' most important skills?

Curiosity, and the willingness to think from a stakeholder or audience’s point of view.

What are your top three skills?

Curiosity, leadership, and courage.

Hanna’s key findings from the Nordic State of PR & Communication 2022

Hanna was one of the experts featured in Mynewsdesk's latest report State of Nordic PR & Communication. When asked which one of the key findings from the report, Redefined Roles, Converging Comms, Content Chaos, Measurement Matters, and Purpose Power, she thinks will be hardest to work with, she answered:

“I find them all a challenge, depending on the context. Redefined Roles might be more of a challenge compared to the others because it requires you to like and embrace change”.
