Rob Shoesmith and the iPhone5 experiment.
Ex-bin man Rob has taken the marketing and PR world by storm since announcing he would be camping outside the Apple store in Covent Garden for the new iPhone and his iPhone5 experiment This is nothing out of the ordinary, if little extreme but there is method to his madness. Rob has not spent any money since traveling down from Coventry but instead has used his place as first in the queue as a barter for various equipment and food. He has received everything from food to camping gear to holidays all in return for him tweeting and blogging about the company and the product provided.
Rob has been using MyNewsdesk to publicise his website and give his followers a daily digest. He has seen a significant amount of traffic coming to his website through us, and this in turn has helped some of the companies that he is talking about almost double their traffic to their sites. While Rob’s stay at the Apple store is coming to an end tomorrow, the amount of buzz he has created from all over the world is incredible. Liam Joyce, from MyNewsdesk, was with him yesterday for 25 minutes and he received 7 phone calls from journalists all over the world.
