It's not shark on the menu, it's you...

Here at Mynewsdesk we love clever PR campaigns and funny stunts...especially when there is a hidden camera involved. So this prank to promote the airing of Sharknado 2: The Second One on Syfy was right up our street!

Unsuspecting Londoners shopping at Steve Hatt fishmongers got the shock of their lives as the shark centrepiece first twitched – and then thrashed – about on the counter, snapping its jaws and making customers scream, jump, laugh and even flee the shop in terror.

This hilarious stunt was created by a team of four artists and animatronic wizards who spent two weeks creating the lifelike animatronic shark before placing it on the fish counter along with sides of salmon and fillets of haddock.

Producers worked through the night to create the stunt, placing hidden cameras in strategic locations throughout the shop, before launching their beast on some very surprised early morning shoppers, offering them a taste of what it might be like to experience a sharknado!

I challenge you not to laugh at some of the priceless reactions below:

In the UK Sharknado 2: The Second One will air on Syfy on Thursday 31st July at 9pm. Check out the US trailer for the film below, it's just as funny as the prank...
