How we used Vine to create a buzz at exhibitions
This week the Mynewsdesk team was very busy attending both the Digital Marketing Show and the CIPR's Public Relations Show. Here is how we got into the spirit of the events and used Vine to create a bit of a buzz.
Preparation for our PR stunt
Throughout the CIPR's first ever PR Show we wanted to demonstrate our commitment to PR pros by giving them whatever it was they needed to make their day better.
We'd never done a stunt like this before and were unsure if anyone would take part. So we created a Vine a few days before the event telling our Twitter followers about our campaign and embedded it in a blog post in our newsroom. The CIPR also kindly emailed this to the PR Show attendees.
Then we just hoped for the best.
Presenting the prizes
The campaign caught on and the tweets started rolling in.
When it was time to surprise the tweeters we used Vine to tell them we'd fulfilled their wishes...
and used it to capture their reactions...
Draw attention to our stand
We also had wonderful artists from Graffiti Life work on our stand to depict real-time story telling with their beautiful art. We wanted to let the attendees at The Digital Marketing Show know about this in case they hadn't passed by our stand yet so they could pop along to see the art taking shape for themselves.
Bonding with other exhibitors
We also used it to have fun with our fellow exhibitors and show everyone we're not just great with newsrooms, we're pretty skilled with a yoyo too....
